This Week's SEC Team Notes

ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE
Alabama has vaulted into the top spot in all of the major polls (AP, USA Today, Harris) for the first time since the end of its National Championship season in 1992 ... It's the first time the Tide have held that spot in the regular season since Weeks 3-9 in the 1980 season ... The Tide lead the SEC and is second in the nation in rushing defense, allowing 65.56 yards per game ... Alabama is second in the SEC and fourth in the nation in total defense, allowing 251.4 yards per game ... Alabama's current 10-game win streak is its longest since winning 12 straight games during the 1993-94 seasons.

ARKANSAS RAZORBACKS
The Razorbacks scored a touchdown on their first drive against Tulsa ... It is the first time this season Arkansas has scored a touchdown on its first drive (Arkansas kicked a field goal against Auburn, its only other first drive that resulted in points) ... Casey Dick's passing yardage total of 385 is the second-most in school history (Trails only 387-yard effort by Clint Stoerner against LSU in 1997) ... Michael Smith now has 987 yards rushing on the season and 1,333 all-purpose yards through his eighth game played (both numbers surpass Darren McFadden's 2007 numbers after 8 games).

AUBURN TIGERS
Auburn has not allowed a touchdown in the first quarter this season (allowing just six points during opening frame all season) ... The Tigers trailed Ole Miss, 10-0, at halftime, marking the first time Auburn had trailed at the half this season ... Auburn is fourth in the SEC and 14th in the nation in scoring defense ... No other non-winning team in the nation this season is in the national top 24 in scoring defense ... QB Kodi Burns threw for a career-high 319 yards against Ole Miss on career-highs of 27 completions and 43 attempts (previous high - 119 yards vs. Arkansas, 2008).

FLORIDA GATORS
The Gators have not trailed in seven of eight games and have not allowed an opponent to score in 18 of 30 quarters ... The Gators have not turned the ball over in six of the last nine games ... Florida leads the nation in turnover margin (+14 in eight games) ... The Gators lead the SEC in scoring defense (11.63 points per game), scoring offense (42.88 points per game), passing efficiency (164.51 rating) and punt returns (20.14 yards per attempt) ... QB Tim Tebow leads the SEC and is 10th in the nation in pass efficiency (162.71 rating) ... He has thrown just 2 interceptions in 177 attempts this season.

GEORGIA BULLDOGS
Georgia leads the SEC in net punting (38.5 yards per punt), passing offense (262.4 yards per game) and total offense (427.56 yards per game) ... WR A.J. Green ranks sixth among freshmen in receptions per game (4.89) with 44 grabs in nine games ... Green is tied for the SEC lead in the category and also leads the SEC in receiving yards per game (83.67) ... QB Matthew Stafford leads the SEC in total offense, averaging 251.0 yards per game ... Soph. LB Rennie Curran is fifth in the SEC in total tackles per game (8.22 / 74 in nine games).

KENTUCKY WILDCATS
Kentucky's sixth win of the season (vs. Miss. State) makes the Wildcats bowl-eligible for the third consecutive season ... The only time in school history that Kentucky has gone to three consecutive bowls was following the 1949-50-51 seasons ... The UK defense allowed just 43 rushing yards against State, marking the fifth time this season UK has held an opponent under 75 yards on the ground ... UK freshman Randall Cobb earned his first career start at quarterback after starting four at wide receiver this season ... Sr. Tony Dixon had nine carries for a season-high 58 yards.

LSU TIGERS
The Tigers have only lost two fumbles this season, the lowest total in the SEC this season ... LSU has posted at least 21 points in 30 straight games ... The last time the Tigers did not score at least 21 points was at Florida on Oct. 7, 2006 ... LSU's fumble return for a touchdown by Chris Hawkins against Tulane was LSU's first defensive touchdown of the season and first since Jonathan Zenon returned an interception for a TD against Tennessee in the 2007 SEC Championship ... WR Brandon LaFell hauled in his sixth receiving touchdown of the season and the 12th of his career.

OLE MISS REBELS
Ole Miss leads the SEC in tackles for loss with 75 this season (8.33 per game) ... Ole Miss' 233 yards rushing against Auburn is the most by the Rebels since running for 240 against Memphis in the 2006 season opener ... Junior RB Cordera Eason posted his first career 100-yard rushing game, running for 104 on 14 attempts ... Junior Dexter McCluster turned in career highs in rushing yards with 84 and carries with 14 ... He also hauled in four passes for 47 yards ... Ole Miss held the opposition under 82 rushing yards for the fourth time this season, limiting the Tigers to 75 yards on the ground.

MISSISSIPPI STATE BULLDOGS
Mississippi State is second in the SEC and fourth in the nation in pass defense, allowing just 153.2 yards per game ... Jr. RB Anthony Dixon is fifth in the SEC with 647 yards rushing (71.9 yards per game) ... Sr. LB Dominic Douglas is sixth in the SEC in tackles per game (8.11) ... Douglas totaled 15 stops against Kentucky and also had his first career interception in the game ... QB Tyson Lee threw for a career-best 261 yards, the most by a Bulldog quarterback since Wesley Carroll threw for 421 yards against Arkansas last season.

SOUTH CAROLINA GAMECOCKS
South Carolina leads the SEC in pass efficiency defense (98.20 rating), kickoff returns (25.07 yards per return), pass defense (144.0 yards per game) and total defense (250.67 yards per game) ... Tennessee rushed for just 34 yards against Carolina, the lowest a Gamecock defense has allowed under head coach Steve Spurrier (Previous low - 41 allowed to Vanderbilt in 2005) ... With 2.0 tackles for loss against the Vols, junior Eric Norwood became the USC record holder for career tackles for loss with 36.0, passing the 35.0 of Andrew Provence (1980-82).

TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS
Senior LB Ellix Wilson continues to lead the SEC in total tackles per game (8.88 / 71 tackles in eight games) ... The Vols' pass defense leads the SEC with 15 interceptions ... Soph. DB Eric Berry has six of those interceptions and has the national lead ... TB Arian Foster rushed for 56 yards and a TD on 14 carries against South Carolina ... The score was his first of the season and the 23rd of his career ... Senior WR Austin Rogers caught a career-long 49-yard pass against Carolina and finished the game with a season-high 72 receiving yards.

VANDERBILT COMMODORES
WR Sean Walker finished with career highs with six catches for 138 yards and a touchdown against Duke ... The receiving yardage was a season high for Vanderbilt receivers, besting his 66-yard effort against Auburn on Oct. 4 ... QB Mackenzi Adams threw for a career best 210 yards. It was the first time a VU QB threw for over 200 yards this season ... LB Chris Marve finished with a career high 16 tackles, including 2.5 for loss, with one forced fumble ... DE Brandon Stewart finished with two sacks, and two forced fumbles ... TE Brandon Barden recorded career highs with five catches and 53 yards.
