No, not Phil Fulmer or Elvis Presley. Although, I have to admit that Elvis did enter my mind. But, the Pea-Pickin’ Picks date back to the fall of 1985 and have been a tradition since.
Back to the person these picks are named after. Tennessee Ernie Ford was a popular celebrity who started as a radio personality and went on be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. One of Tennessee Ernie’s favorite sayings was “bless your little pea-pickin’ heart.” Thus we have the Pea-Pickin’ Picks in honor of a great Tennessean and a great American.
